Onyx are ideally placed to work alongside our clients in their team, representing them on all project matters, managing client resources and activities to ensure vendor deliverables are appropriately reviewed, tested and ultimately accepted.
In our experience it is a far too common practice, especially for larger projects and major upgrades, for vendors to “over-sell” their solutions and for our client’s internal stakeholders to not wish to accept anything less than was agreed. In these cases, Onyx understands the need for both sides to compromise and acts as the “intermediary”, using our knowledge and experience to find practical, workable and robust solutions that allow client and vendor to move forward. Resolution often requires a bit of give and take from both sides, seeking alternative solutions when there are problems and working out what the core requirements are.
Onyx has adopted the ‘Project Management Body of Knowledge’ (PMBOK) as our framework for project management, however we are equally as adept at adopting other frameworks, such as PRINCE2 or our clients own framework.
As each client and project is different, Onyx strongly believe in this flexible approach and are able to modify our project management practices to suit each client. For project management of software development projects, we are just as flexible, with experience in the traditional “waterfall” method, rapid prototyping and agile development methodologies such as SCRUM.
