2017 - A Year of Growth for Onyx

It has been a busy 2017 so far, with Onyx expanding our permanent presence on the East Coast and securing a number of new and exciting projects in Sydney, Melbourne and Western Australia. 

Onyx are also proud to announce that we recently won our first international engagement, with a small team set to provide advisory services in the Sultanate of Oman for the next three years.

Please join us in welcoming our new team members:

Craig Spencer
Craig has joined Onyx as the State Manager for NSW. Based in Sydney, Craig will manage the local team and assist the Onyx Management team to grow and support our client base in the state.

Craig has a vast range of skills, knowledge and experience in telecommunications, IT and control systems engineering disciplines, which includes 14 years in the energy industry and 22 years in the military.

He joins us from the electricity distribution company Orion NZ, where he led the control systems team and was responsible for all aspects of their SCADA/NMS OMS and mobile systems support, maintenance and development.  

Matt Pember
Matt has recently joined the Onyx team as a Principal Consultant. Based in the Sultanate of Oman, Matt will provide advisory services to our first client in the region over the next few years. He will also lead our Business Development activities across the Middle East.

Matt has significant program management, change management, operational and business analysis experience in wholesale electricity markets. He has 12 years of experience in the energy industry, having represented AEMO, System Management and Western Power in various capacities since 2005.

Mark Brodziak
Mark has joined Onyx to lead our Energy Applications team. Based in Perth, Mark is responsible for ensuring the quality of software we develop, while also leading the team in the adoption of best practices in software development and automation.

Mark has over 20 years of hands-on experience in the IT industry, has a keen eye for detail and quality. He has over 6 years of experience in the energy industry, primarily spent architecting and developing on AEMO’s wholesale electricity market systems and gas bulletin board in Western Australia.
