THE BEGINNING
Onyx started operations in late 2014, with our first engagement assisting Western Power's System Management group to prepare for their move to the Market Operator.
In 2015, we completed our first engagement on the East Coast, developing a comprehensive five-year SCADA and RTS Strategy for a national gas, water and electricity supplier.
Onyx became Australia's first Certified Solutions Provider by GE Energy. We also acquired the Chief Operational Historian Software Suite ("Chief") from Chief Software Pty Ltd
THE EARLY YEARS
Onyx continued to grow and strengten our core team, both in Perth and the East Coast. In 2017, we commenced development of our Horus Trading System with a Gas Trading module for an Energy Retailer in WA.
The Onyx team were awarded our first international engagement with a multi-year engagement in the Sultanate of Oman.
STEADY GROWTH
Onyx grew steadily over the course of 2018-19 on the back of a number of project successes. Our services teams were engaged to assist a client with their ADMS implementation, and in Perth the team were engaged with a large-scale system transition and migration project. The Horus Trading Systems team were also busy developing Balancing and LFAS trading modules for our clients in WA. The Onyx team quickly outgrew our first office and we moved into Parmelia House in early 2018.
THE COVID YEARS
Onyx were on the move again in early 2020. After getting the keys to our new office the day before the first COVID lockdown in Perth, the Onyx team have been very fortunate to sustain our existing clients and to have the opportunity to help new clients. We have also managed to recruit additional quality resources from the local and overseas markets, as well as invest in developing a number of graduate control systems and software engineers
